And apart from an on/off toggle switch, there are exactly two controls — one to adjust volume and one to select inputs (Bluetooth or Aux).

The only buttons are for power and party mode, which lets you create a simple multiroom audio system—the speaker your phone is paired with broadcasts to other Newport speakers, so they all play in sync as long as they’re within Bluetooth range of the first speaker (in our tests, about 25 feet with no more than two walls in between).

Obviously, they sound great, but the thing I really like is that they look great too - with almost ornament-like styling they don't stick out in a room and blend in with existing decor. If you’re interested in Wi-Fi speakers, please see our guides to the best multiroom wireless speaker system, the Apple HomePod, the best Alexa speaker and the best Google Next speaker. If Bluetooth isn’t your thing, you can also use the One II as a stereo for your turntable with its built-in phono preamp and dual RCA input. Its boomy sound profile can muddy voices and dialogue, and there aren't any sound customization features to tweak its sound to your liking. Because the One Plus has just two controls—a button for power on/off and source selection, plus a volume knob—it should be easy for most people to use.

Designed for in-home use: To be considered for this guide, a Bluetooth speaker had to be designed primarily for home use—to stay mostly in one spot indoors. The _ga cookie, installed by Google Analytics, calculates visitor, session and campaign data and also keeps track of site usage for the site's analytics report.Next, I compare the speakers directly—sometimes by myself, sometimes with a listening panel, and always with the levels matched to within 0. It follows on from the equally strangely-named The Three | Google Assistant speaker which launched at the tail end of last year.

Most of the speakers we tested must be plugged into a power outlet, but some include a rechargeable battery, which is an advantage if you occasionally want to lug your speaker into a different room without having to plug it in.It also isn't very portable due to its wired design, making it bothersome to transport from room to room in your home. it was plenty loud for casual listening and would be a great provider of background music during a lively house party. In the vast majority of cases we will not be able to install the cabinet doors to built-in laundry products as the fittings very rarely match up. Speaking of oomph, the One II can also put out quite a lot of volume if you feel like having a party or driving your neighbors mad.

Sound quality — To give you an idea of where I was at in my Bluetooth audio journey, before purchasing the Klipsch One II earlier this year, my go-to was a 10-year-old portable cone from JBL. Pairing your Bluetooth® device with The One II is extremely easy — just press and hold the source button on The One II and select 'Klipsch The One II' on your smartphone. Since 1946, we have carried on our founder's passion for delivering the best home audio experience possible. The Denon's sound profile is a bit better balanced and can produce a more extended low-bass than the Klipsch.
