Amanda Vickery has uncovered wonderful stories and characters, and written a book that is amusing as it is scholarly. In this dark, psychological thriller, Georgia Maguire pushes listeners to explore the furthest limits of their moral codes.

plus, this is one of those books where i can already hear the shrieking of the people about how all of the spoilers in the world are being spoiled by me so it's probably best for me to do this instead. An avid listener of Agatha Christie audiotapes, Millie has pretended to have a sleeping issue, but has actually been hoarding the pills to then pass along to Grace. He gives over 150 tips, including how better decisions could be taken and how board directors can better join in those debates. This perfect-on-paper party is being hosted by the couple who will become central to this novel, Jack and Grace. It isn’t until the couple is away in Thailand for their honeymoon that Paris begins to dole out the first bites of something sour in the relationship.

Grace walks headfirst into what is obviously a bad deal in such a glorious fashion that I’m reminded of that old lie about chickens staring up at the rain and drowning. Also, IMO would have been better with more psychological elements…I know, I know…I’m greedy, but it's what I would have preferred. The characters, and their situations, were easy to become involved with and relatable for a teenage audience. In this brilliant work, Amanda Vickery unlocks the homes of Georgian England to examine the lives of the people who lived there.

Curtis goes where most do not and draws surprisingly frank testimony from judges, social workers, parents and children. I mean, there has to be some truth there given how people act when they watch the Packers play the Vikings. But it is also immensely readable, thanks to her ability to weave humanity and public policy into a fine narrative.

Though there were a few technical hiccups, some elements that really required the stretching of your imagination to believe, I absolutely have to commend B. in which assessment there is no pejorative value judgment implied - it is a marriage thriller, after all. There was a brief explanation about some things that happened in his childhood but it wasn’t developed really.

But things are not as they appear as hinted at by the title, and that is the premise for this heart-in-your-throat domestic psychological thriller.

It’s quite an intense story and found it difficult to read at times, not because the content was graphic or gory because it wasn’t. The writing was fantastic, the pace of the story perfect for this kind of read and overall the story had a realistic vibe that made me think and almost gave me the chills. Though Grace has promised to visit Millie in the hospital on the way to the airport for their honeymoon, Grace feels guilty that she marries without her younger sister present. Maybe, but the sasquatches whom the volcano displaced contributed to the statistics, too, if only out of self-defense.
