The story is fast paced and moves from scene to scene, no long narration where nothing is happening. Warner, an Army veteran who has worked as a child therapist and later as a software engineer, had only recently decided to pursue his dream of writing full-time. I enjoy reading YA but there were so many times where it definitely felt like a middle aged spin on how a teenage girl would/should think and talk.

Leigh’s life takes an unexpected turn when her family decides to move into the historic Simmons-Pierce Manor, an eerie Victorian mansion with a chilling reputation for being haunted.

I enjoyed seeing Leigh’s growth throughout the story as well as her internal dialogue shift from the initial thoughts she had upon arriving at the manor. Leigh's narration and thought process read like an older man guessing how 16 year old girls think and act, and it doesn't feel convincing or natural. Instead I got creepy vibes from an older male author writing about a teen girl getting undressed, trying to distinguish sexual vs mentor energy from older men, and let a ghost “penetrate” her body.

Ty, Leigh's father's friend, describes being disappointed in Leigh and having the urge to "put her over his knee and spank her" which again I think was weird, unnecessary, and added nothing to the plot.As Swearenjin explains in his video, the situation made him think of “all the times I worked so hard and never got any recognition. I especially liked the relationship that built between Leigh and the two versions of the ghost, it gave the characters good development.

But with the help of her cousin, the staff members, and the ghosts, she’s determined to find the truth and bring her parents’ killers to justice. The name and way the character "Nacho" is written is strange and feels like an insensitive and unnecessary depiction.Show more To promote social inclusion for the public benefit by preventing migrants, asylum seekers and people from ethnic minority backgrounds residing in North London from becoming socially excluded, relieving the needs of those people who are socially excluded and assisting them to integrate into society, in particular by providing education, advice, information, advocacy and support to enable such people to gain confidence and new skills. As Warner later explained in a TikTok of his own, when Swearenjin approached him, “I was just so eager to talk to anybody.
