So while the Hyperfire’s technical performance is excellent, I found the practicalities let it down. The only problem is that it does jam, especially if your darts are a little worn, and it got worse as the batteries got older. I have to admit to getting a very real satisfaction from shooting it myself, as the foam darts went ping, ping, ping against the wall. The first time I tried it out in the field, once I got into scavenger mode (something you are likely to do with this rate of fire!Some of the technologies we use are necessary for critical functions like security and site integrity, account authentication, security and privacy preferences, internal site usage and maintenance data, and to make the site work correctly for browsing and transactions. It may be over in only 5 seconds, but watching those 25 darts hit your target makes the refilling worthwhile. There is another clever piece of design with the NERF N-Strike Elite HyperFire; the flywheels are slanted, or canted. Just press the button in front of the trigger while pulling the drum down, and it drops out with very little resistance, so it won’t be a problem even for younger kids. While I think it looks quite cool, the first thing that struck me was that it is seriously lacking in tactical rails – one compared to compared to its main rival’s four. You are supplied with 25 Elite darts, but it will take any Nerf darts, and you'll probably need them. After all, how many other blasters have you used that let you fire 25 shots in 5 seconds with no modification? This Blaster does take 4 x D Cell batteries, which aren't cheap, but we haven't yet had to replace them, despite some daily use and a couple of drawn out battles. Clearly this is an awesome toy, everyone in the house has played with it and it leads to squeals and laughter whatever age you are.
