Kennedy is amazing with her sacrificial love for him, which makes their breakup all the more devastating. Kennedy is a single mother and Jonathan is a movie star and except of their daughter they don’t seem to have anything in common. Six years later, we find Kennedy back in their little hometown in upstate New York, stuck in a dead-end job that pays the bills and puts food on the table, but also serves as a constant reminder of all she’s had to give up for someone else’s dreams.
The thought makes her both terrified at the thought of him showing up again and fearful that he may have finally moved on and given up. My heart is full, my eyes are stinging and I probably should finish writing this review tomorrow - but I cannot go a day more without yelling about this fucking book, man.i think their dynamic was so adorable too, she wore her heart on her sleeve and he was so in love with her it was obvious from his pov.
Every day when she goes to work, lurid tabloids surround her, the face of a notorious bad boy haunting her from their covers. What follows is a moving tale of second chances, of a man working hard to earn back the trust of those he’s let down, of a father getting to know his child for the first time and learning the true meaning of unconditional love. an incident occurs and now he’s back claiming he’s different, sober, and ready to take accountability but will she believe and trust him this time?It showed how out of control life can be, especially if you loose focus on what should always be the most important thing. The physical intimacy between Jonathan and Kennedy is intense as they both focus on reconnecting and learning to love again. I found his attitude a tad overwhelming, a know-it-all dismissing the rules and regulations to spite others.
Like the H's relationship with his dad, the h's career/dreams, Serena, Cliff, and just their general future with balancing family life and his career (to name a few). A daughter that doesn’t know her father because honestly, he’s been a fuck up for a while, he’s lost himself in a world of drugs and alcohol and the heroine made the decision of raising her daughter alone. reading this because my gorgeous angel seraphyna gave it five stars and i trust her book taste with my life.Love can’t be enough when one was sacrificing everything to keep them together, and the other was doing everything to break them apart. Kennedy is surely clouded with doubts and fears but thank goodness for being brave and opening her eyes and heart to see the changes in Jonathan. It felt like it was just based on sex in both the past and the present, and that the deep connection parts were skimmed over or just vague.
