Broken Hearts & Zombie Parts
About this deal
One that I feel should become school reading material the same way Lord of the Flys is, especially with the important subject matter it handles that sadly is becoming more relevant.

They were interesting characters with their own challenges so would have been nice to spend even more time with them. It's narrated by Chris Nelson, so also narrated both of the other William Hussey audiobooks that I've listened to. The problem is, he has a heart condition that will put him under a knife in 2 months, so time is of the essence. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average.
It makes you laugh, it makes you think, and it makes you cry, but most of all, it makes you feel like you're at home. I would recommend this for fans of Simon James Green, because it's so funny, and especially the main character is hilarious.
The body image issues are very relevant and tie in well with the internet-driven prejudices about appearance that dominate teens and YAs thinking. From thrillers for Young Adults to gripping whodunnits for grown-ups, he has written in almost every genre of fiction. I honestly wish I was more capable to capture with emotions all the feelings I had while reading it. A wonderful turn on a coming-of-age bucket list story with the twist of open heart surgery juxtaposed against making a zombie movie.
