Description

This article is part of Project TCG, a Bulbapedia project that aims to report on every aspect of the Pokémon Trading Card Game. A quarter of a century ago rampant Pokemon burst onto our TV's, our games consoles and for many of us our hearts (heh, cute right). This year marks the 25th Anniversary of Pokemon and it could be argued that the Trading Card Game is as strong now as it was in the heights of Pokémania in the late 90s / early 00s. In Celebration of this a special Pokemon 25th Anniversary Collection called Celebrations is due to launch on October 8th, 2021.

Celebrate the greatest moments of Pokémon over 25 years of adventures alongside favorites from Mew and Ho-Oh to Lunala and Zamazenta! An awesome parade of Legendary Pokémon appears, and famous Pokémon from the very beginning return to join your collection—you can even find Flying Pikachu and Surfing Pikachu as both Pokémon V and Pokémon VMAX! Let us know your thoughts on this set and what Pokémon TCG card has been your favorite throughout the years. Have any particular memories? Share down in the comments or on Discord! Update: It looks like the fonts on some of the older cards are slightly different, perhaps due to changes in software rendering over the years. It probably wasn’t on purpose and likely wasn’t noticed.Celebrate the great teamwork between Charizard and its Trainer Lance or explore the darker side of Sylveon with a unique look at the Intertwining Pokémon with this pair of Pokémon TCG: Celebrations Collections, which highlights classic gameplay mechanics from Pokémon TCG days past. There will be a special Pokémon Center version of the elite trainer box sold through the Pokémon Center Online, as well as an “Ultra-Premium Collection” box. Join the party with the Pokémon TCG: Celebrations expansion!

Celebrate Pokémon with the world-famous Pikachu, taking to the waves and the skies on a special pin to commemorate 25 years of good times and great adventures!

The Pokémon TCG: Celebrations Collection—Lance's Charizard V and Pokémon TCG: Celebrations Collection—Dark Sylveon V will be available on October 8, 2021, where Pokémon TCG products are sold.

What better way to celebrate Pokémon’s 25th anniversary than with a TCG collection that highlights some of our favorite cards and mechanics throughout the series’ history. The Pokémon Trading Card Game: Celebrationscollection will start launching on October 8, with a variety of products being available. Diving at supersonic speeds, Dragapult swoops into your collection as an impressive Pokémon Prime! Pokémon Prime were a type of cards originally introduced in the HeartGold & SoulSilver Series, offering a touch of nostalgia to the collection. This powerful collection includes two Pokémon TCG: Celebrations boosters, as well as Dragapult Prime and its ghostly stealth giving you the power to strike at just the right moment. Dig deep and you'll find additional surprises including a binder and more! To me* it looks like the fonts on the old Celebrations cards is a bit different than the originals, like the “Pokemon Power: Energy Burn” text on Charizard. Perhaps new versions of Photoshop render the fonts differently? However, Reshiram through Tapu Lele-GX are legal in Expanded because their original prints are still legal in that format.

Customer reviews

Bold indicates a main expansion. Italics indicate a special set. Releases that are entirely composed of prints from other releases are small. Otherwise, they use the same text, templates, set numbers, and everything else as the originals. TPCi obviously opened the original files and just slapped the 25th anniversary stamp over them.
