It is very effective and gives fantastic support, bridging the gap on a dot and dab wall and saving time because you don’t need extra support. Hopefully someone will be along shortly who’s used them, but based on my experience of the normal ones I’d say to give them (AIR) a try. I've had better success with plasterboard fixings than I expected; they can actually take a fair amount of weight.

Its unique steel core transfers the load to the blockwork behind the plasterboard, preventing the plasterboard from crushing into the void.I’ve already mounted a heavy mirror on such a wall but the fixings are so long they lean down into the plasterboard from the horizontal. Cobra wall anchors are the leading manufacturer of wall fixings in North America and Canada and are exclusively distributed in the UK by Metex. Fixings from Metex simplify the decision making process through education by showing the compatible wall materials and safe working load for each fixing, allowing the user to make an informed and confident purchase. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. The person fitting them was impressed with the product also having the steel thread which sits in the wall plug for the additional support.

I used them to hang a 42kg vertical radiator on a drylined wall and the fittings were very good, with nice simple instructions.

Featuring a strong steel core, our reinforced wall anchors are designed to transfer the load to the brick or block wall behind the plasterboard, providing a safe and strong hold. Because these fixings have been especially designed to provide a secure fixing into exactly these types of internal walls. Is designed to allow heavy loads to be quickly and safely fixed to plasterboard (dot and dab) cavity walls.

The plugs, while cleverly designed, are made of a very cheap material and the screw will strip it if tightened with anything other than a hand screwdriver. The rawl plug got its name from John Joseph Rawlings who invented this simple yet universally used fixing way back in 1911. Corefix provides a reliable solution for fixing heavy items to plasterboard supported on battens or dot and dab, or similar substrates. This is often favoured in upper floors of houses as it reduces cost and simplifies the supporting wall requirements at ground level because it is much lighter. When you are happy the plug is secure, either with or without grab adhesive (your decision), tap home the tube and attach your fitting with the screw.
